Time for wine | Spring Edition

Gary Barnett, from The Imperial Hotel in Barnstaple, shares his seasons recommendations.

'With Spring bursting bursting into life, why not go for an Argento Chardonnay from Argentina, with fresh cute grass on the nose & ripe grapefruit, peach & citrus on the palate. The finish is crisp & clean with a bright, vibrant acidity perfectly complimenting our spring menus.

For the red, I would recommend our Heritages Côes du Rhône, from France. With it's deep ruby & purple highlights, this elegant wine with complex nose is lightly spiced with red berries & hint of undergrowth. A classic red which compliments a broad range of seasonal dishes.
