1. Beach Hopping
You are spoilt for choice when deciding what beach to explore in North Devon so why not make a day of it. Get your ticklist at the ready and explore the vast variety of beaches that we have to offer. From hidden coves to miles of golden sands there is a surprise around every corner. Something that doesn’t change is the glistening turquoise waters that lay in front of you, paddle in the shallow waters or brave a dip.
2. Get lost in tranquil gardens
If switching the outside world off is what you’re after then visiting one of local gardens is a must. Step into another world and enjoy the beauty of nature. One of our favourites is RHS Rosemoor spreading over 65 acres it will transport you to a world of tranquility and peace. Find a picnic spot and make a day of it or try the cafe serving local produce from their very own gardens.
3. Hocking's Ice Cream
If you haven’t heard about Hockings Ice Cream then you need to! Made in Appledore, and famous to any North Devon regular as the best ice cream in the world we pride ourselves on this delicious treat. Follow the trail of happy customers along most beaches and you will be sure to find a Hockings van. Enjoy and thank us later!
4. Ahoy Sailor
Set sail and head out onto the turquoise ocean!
As we pride ourselves on our beautiful coastlines there is ample choice when it comes to heading out onto the water. Whether it’s a surfing lesson, kayaking, paddle boarding, kite surfing or just simply a dip in the sun kissed sea we know you won’t regret it.
5. Lundy Island
Forget beach hopping, it's all about the island hopping. Discover North Devon’s hidden secret, Lundy island. Explore the mile long island and immerse yourself in the natural wildlife including seals and puffins. With only 27 residents on the island it is the ideal relaxing day trip.
