Our Deputy Hotel Manager's 20-year journey
Richard started at the Imperial Hotel 20 years ago, in 2006, as a Storeman, where he also worked as a Bartender and Night Porter. From there, Richard then moved into the restaurant department as a waiter, and he quickly got promoted to Head Waiter in our Arlington Restaurant.
Richard was moved to the heart of the hotel as a Front of House Porter, where his love for customer service shone, and his hard work and dedication saw him become Head Porter in 2009. From there, he went from strength to strength and in October 2021, became Deputy Hotel Manager.
Richard's friendly, can-do, positive attitude is what makes him a guest and staff favourite. Nothing is too much trouble, and everyone seems to be smiling when he's around.
Richard said his most memorable of his career was "meeting my wife, Rachel, who also worked at the hotel. And I have had an amazing time meeting so many people, a lot of who are now considered very, very good friends."
