
Two Decades at The Imperial
Sayed began his journey at The Imperial Hotel in Barnstaple in 2004, after hearing about a job opportunity from his friend Rami, who was already part of the team. He started out in Housekeeping but had always been drawn to the restaurant side of the business. When a role opened up, he seized the chance to switch departments and steadily worked his way up—first to supervisor, and eventually to Restaurant Manager.
Hospitality has always been in Sayed’s blood. Before moving to the UK, he gained valuable experience working in a five-star hotel restaurant in Egypt—skills he continues to bring to his role today. But The Imperial has given him more than just a career. It’s also where he met his wife, Justyna, who worked with him in the restaurant. Together, they built a life—and now, with a baby in the mix, the hotel holds an even more special place in his heart.
"The Brends are a great family to work for, and The Imperial is a wonderful team to work with," Sayed says. "I’ve seen many people come and go, but meeting new people and working in a job I love is what keeps me going."
Now, after 20 years at The Imperial, Sayed remains a key part of the team, leading with experience, dedication, and a true passion for hospitality.
