The South West coast path has many amazing walks in North Devon including Ilfracombe, Lynton, Baggy Point, Heddon's Mouth, Putsborough and Barnstaple, these are just some of the walks that the South West Coast Path has to offer and they will not disappoint.
If you don't want to travel far then look any further than the Barnstaple Museum, just a short walk from The Imperial Hotel. The Barnstaple Museum has just undergone a yearlong refurbishment adding a huge new extension to the local attraction which will be opening October 2019.
The new extension will provide high-quality temporary exhibition spaces, an improved tea-room, a museum shop and better access, including a lift. Meanwhile, it will be bringing more collections out and gathering local stories around North Devon for their new social history gallery.
Seas the day this Winter and take a look at what makes North Devon extra special! All different but all breathtaking and will be sure to be the perfect place for a quiet stroll. You will not be disappointed if you take a stroll on one of the many beaches we have here in North Devon, some of our favourites include Saunton Sands where our sister hotel is located, Westward Ho! Woolacombe and Croyde!
Barnstaple High Street

Only a few miles from the Imperial Hotel, this beautiful 65-acre garden is meticulously planted, within a dramatic backdrop of steep wooded valley sides. Let the winter colours enchant you as you stroll through walled gardens, vegetable gardens and stunning lakes.
